TOM A. SMITH DROPS NEW ALT-ROCK SMASH “AM I EVER GONNA BE A ROCK STAR?”

Tom A. Smith might only be 21 years old, but this British rock ’n’ roll phenom is already a seasoned music industry veteran. Smith has been tearing up stages with his infectious brand of alt-rock since he was just eight years old, giving him more experience than plenty of musicians twice his age.

His new single, “Am I Ever Gonna Be A Rock Star?”, is two and a half minutes of pure sonic delight. Jam-packed with funky bass grooves, tension-building guitars, high-energy drums, dancing hi-hats, and, of course, Smith’s commanding vocals, the track feels equal parts rock song and hypnosis session. There’s a groove running underneath the entire thing that grabs hold early and refuses to let go.

Smith kicks things off with the line, “Well I’m your favorite ’80s pop star rip-off…”, delivering it with the confidence and authority of a crooner twice his age. From there, the track only gets more infectious, eventually landing on a chorus that feels practically designed to live rent-free in your head.

By the time those two and a half minutes are up, Smith has asked “Am I Ever Gonna Be A Rock Star?” enough times to make you seriously consider the question. Thankfully, the answer isn’t particularly difficult.

Yeah, dude. We think you’re gonna be just fine.
