SAN DIEGO’S TIGERS IN CAIRO RELEASE NEW POST-PUNK LOVE SONG “JUST MY LUCK”

San Diego’s Tigers in Cairo are back with a brand-new single, “Just My Luck,” continuing the momentum that has quickly made them one of the city’s bands to keep an eye on.

Blending punk rock with a sharp post-punk edge, “Just My Luck” finds the band tackling the ever-complicated world of love without sacrificing the energy and grit that have become a major part of their sound. It’s catchy without feeling overly polished, balancing melody and attitude in a way that makes the track immediately stick.

Comprised of vocalist David Martin, drummer Matt Yansch, bassist Daryl Thompson, and guitarists Gavin Rhodes and Paul Skura, Tigers in Cairo have been steadily building a name for themselves both inside and outside of Southern California. Previous singles have landed coverage from VICE, New Noise, yours turly, Magnet, and Treblezine, while the band has also received radio rotation from KROQ and ALT 98.7 and earned a “Song of the Day” selection from MPR’s The Current.

The band has also taken its music beyond the studio, performing at Furnace Fest alongside dozens of shows throughout California and earning praise for their ability to combine seriously catchy hooks with the rougher edges of San Diego punk rock.

That combination is once again front and center on “Just My Luck.” There’s enough melody to pull you in immediately, but Tigers in Cairo never sand down the edges in the process. For a band already earning a reputation as one of San Diego’s rising names, “Just My Luck” feels like another solid step forward.
