TEST PATTERNS’ “CHANDELIER” IS SUBDUED ALT SYNTHPOP

Test Patterns, aka Gage Bickerstaff, has crafted a single that his bio calls an “art pop song.” Unfortunately, one would be hard pressed to hear what is touted as the complexity of the arrangements or intricate sonic underpinnings. It’s a nice enough track, definitely well-meaning and sincerely delivered in a very understated way with a pleasant calmness.

The universal and relatable lyrics “touch on the fragmentation and fragility of life and how it affects us all.”

Test Patterns has also been compared to singer/songwriter James Blake, and Gage Bickerstaff does sound like him or resemble him, but not in a cloying or derivative way.

“Chandelier” is a likeable music track that will resonate with many people. Everyone is going through something deep or heavy in their life at one point or another. This single aims to strike a chord with others that they, too, are not alone in an unsympathetic and uncaring world that has no time for sensitive souls.
