TANIA CASSETTE CHASES THE DARKNESS ON ETHEREAL SYNTH-POP STANDOUT “THE RABBIT”

San Diego synth-pop artist Tania Cassette steps into the spotlight with her debut solo album, The Death Of Me. Previously one half of the duo Glass Spells, Cassette officially entered her solo era with the album’s September 4 release, delivering tracks like “The Flame,” “Isabella,” and its hypnotic standout, “The Rabbit.”

“The Rabbit” is a brooding, ethereal slice of synthwave that immediately pulls you into its world. An ominous opening slowly builds suspense before the dark synths soften beneath the first verse, never quite losing the sense that something is lurking just beneath the surface.

Despite its darker atmosphere, there’s an undeniable pulse running through the track. Layers of synths and electronic beats make “The Rabbit” something you can get up and dance to while simultaneously feeling like you’re transcending into another dimension.

Close your eyes, and the song practically creates its own landscape: a dark field beneath the moon, chasing aspirations, dreams, and, of course, the rabbit as you disappear deeper into the night.

And “The Rabbit” is only the beginning. The Death Of Me expands on that shadowy electronic world throughout, making the record well worth exploring for fans of Poppy, Pastel Ghost and Perturbator.

Tania Cassette is also taking the new material on the road, with a performance at Moe’s Alley in Santa Cruz on September 25.
