SONG PREMIERE: THE DEANS - "COLLIDE"
Extruding from the cypress pores of Corvallis, Oregon comes the five-piece indie band The Deans. Their latest effort titled “Collide” is a gorgeous display of new age rock music with a old school NYC-derived indie twist.
The track begins with a mellow intro, much like a gentle walk along a shaded riverfront. As the song picks up, the energy is elevated and the sound becomes more refined. Lead vocalist Sean Bullock’s vocals sound like a mashup of Interpol’s Paul Julian Banks, The Strokes’ Julian Casablancas, and The Doors babbling buffoon (yet not in the case of Bullock), Jim Morrison. With resounding guitar chords and an organic delivery of drums, the band’s sound is warm and welcoming. Keep your eyes on these gents - they’re primed for a breakout.
