RIVAL CONSOLES TAPS INTO HUMAN EMOTION WITH NEW SINGLE “KNOWN SHAPE”
Rival Consoles, the project of Ryan Lee West, has dropped a mesmerizing new single, “Known Shape.” Blending mechanical rhythms with raw human emotion, the track feels like a kinetic cousin to Bicep and Floating Points — electric, restless, and alive.
Built from the hum of rotating switches and the pulse of synths in motion, “Known Shape” explores the tactile beauty of machines and their deep-rooted connection to the human spirit. "There is a constant searching in 'Known Shape' for some kind of answer or emotion," West explains.
The single previews Landscape from Memory, Rival Consoles' new album out July 4th via Erased Tapes. After a challenging creative dry spell, West stitched the album together from discarded audio fragments, finding vulnerability, openness, and something genuinely transcendent along the way.
With “Known Shape,” Rival Consoles proves once again that even machines can sound heartbreakingly human.
