NEEDY EMPTY DROPS DREAMY DEBUT SINGLE “HOUSEPLANTS”
San Francisco-based artist Needy Empty sets out for his debut release in the form of “Houseplants”. Needy Empty is a bedroom pop solo project boasting what the artist coins “California dream gloom.”
The debut single begins introducing pulsating synthesizers along with Needy Empty’s widely reverberant backing vocals. The song oozes in dreamy Indietronica combining natural instrumentation, such as the crunchy lead guitar and bass, with filtered vintage synth sounds and drum machine percussion. What creates the soothing atmosphere in this track though is Needy’s vocals. The lead is charismatic and intoxicating with the backing vocals adding so much depth to the minimalistic-style production.
