DUGO BLENDS ELECTRONICA WITH SPANISH FLAMENCO IN “RECLUSE”

Dugo is the solo project by Takahiro Izutani from Tokyo, exploring the combination of modern electronic music with the sound of rock guitar influenced by Spanish flamenco. In day to day life, Dugo works as a video game composer, but with the COVID-19 epidemic as it currently stands his Dugo project has regenerated with new EP Recluse.

The new single is beautifully intricate in terms of its specialised guitar composition, production and creative beat making. The single begins building a smooth pad sound before introducing Dugo’s wonderfully layered flamenco guitar and infectious electronic beat production. The two contrasting styles dramatically complement each other crafting a unique, flavourful soundtrack-like composition.

Takahiro Izutani has worked on several projects for well-known Japanese artists such as Ayumi Hamasaki, as well as video game composition for the likes of Metal Gear Solid and Bayonetta. With Takahiro now focusing efforts on his Dugo project, it promises an exciting future ahead for the Japanese composer.
