NEED A PSYCHADELIC MUSIC FIX? NEW SINGLE “WHY WAIT FOR TOMORROW” HAS GOT YOU COVERED

Andy Korg is giving serious Tame Impala vibes in his new single, “Why Wait for Tomorrow,” where he explores the value of appreciating every moment as it comes. From the hazy vocals, dreamy soundscape, and overall inspirational message, the song is an incredible representation of new psychedelic sounds.

Overall, the hypnotic melody will make you feel like you’re gliding among the clouds. While falling under the indie umbrella, it’s also got a splash of post-punk with the synths, think early 80s Cure, mixed with a little heavier noise found in rock via the drum fills. Everything has a sprinkle of whimsy to it, from the atmospheric chimes to the loud crash from the cymbal.

Lyrically, the track captures both fuzzy feelings of nostalgia and the volatility of the future. You’re placed in a cityscape, walking along the street and observing your surroundings. People-watching turns into retrospection, as the lyrics guide you through scenes representing the past, present, and future. Urgency of staying in the present combines with a laid-back tone that feels uplifting and encouraging. Mindfulness is key in the story, and is also encouraged through the relaxing melody. It’s very reminiscent of The Beatles during their psychedelic era.

“Why Wait for Tomorrow” is a certified must-listen on a flight, long drive, or even in a moment of meditation. This is a promising single from Korg, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
