THE BARBARIANS OF CALIFORNIA UNLEASH NEW SINGLE “MODERN FASHION” WITH SELF-DIRECTED VIDEO

The Barbarians of California are back with a fiery new track and visuals that could only come from chaotic, brilliant DIY minds. Today, the Angeleno hardcore outfit dropped “Modern Fashion”, their first new music since debuting And Now I'm Just Gnashing My Teeth last year, accompanied by a music video the band directed themselves.

The video and track feel like a shot of adrenaline straight to the brain. Blending choppy, noisy riffs and reckless energy, “Modern Fashion” is feral post-hardcore in its purest form—punk not because it’s tidy, but because it feels alive and unapologetically unfiltered.

Aaron Bruno of AWOLNATION, who co-founded the group with producer-engineer Eric Stenman (whose resume includes stints with Deftones, Thrice, Snapcase, and many more), gives the sound a rebellious edge. Bruno says he hopes “Modern Fashion” becomes a metaphor for self-expression—wear what you want, listen to what you want, and never explain yourself.

Fresh off their debut, The Barbarians of California will be hitting the road in top form, supporting Deftones on a massive North American tour. That run starts tomorrow in Vancouver and includes arena dates across the continent.
