MATHURA IS ALL GAS NO BRAKES ON HIS NEWEST SINGLE “LIGHT ME UP”

Some musicians have that one song that pushes them to the next level, and “Light Me Up” could very well be that song for Mathura. On his latest track, the Nashville-based solo artist puts his technical chops and sharp songwriting to work on arguably the fastest and heaviest song of his career so far.

Songs that go full throttle can easily lose control, but “Light Me Up” never does. Mathura handles the chaos like a seasoned race car driver, foot firmly on the gas. There’s no long buildup, either. The track explodes out of the gate with crushing guitars and a playful bounce before ripping into an insanely catchy, sing-along chorus. Just when you think the song has hit its limit, Mathura drops a nasty breakdown that brings everything together before one final rush of riffs and grooves takes it across the finish line.

More importantly, Mathura proves you can go fast without getting reckless. He never needs growls or screams to compete with the heaviness around him. His clean vocals are one of the track’s biggest strengths, adding plenty of melody without losing its bite.

“Light Me Up” feels like a turning point for Mathura. It’s heavier, faster, and more confident, but still completely under control. If this is the direction he’s taking things, he just found another gear.
