LET OK GOODNIGHT SERENADE YOU IN MELODIC HARDCORE TRACK “SPIRAL”

Completely mesmerizing and sonically top-tier, OK Goodnight hypnotizes listeners in “Spiral.” The track is a love letter to every sound the Boston-based band chronicles.

It’s obvious that the band doesn’t stick to a particular script, rather letting their emotions guide their sound. Casey Lee Williams’ ethereal vocals lead the charge with a vocal power that gives you goosebumps. Through every dip and moment of climax, Williams has an unrelenting presence that gives the song its soul.

Similar to recent releases like “22,” OK Goodnight absolutely indulges in sounds that go beyond traditional genre markers. Their iconic math-rock sound dominates, while glimmering shards of indie pop poke through at times. The melodic hardcore elements of the wavy guitar and slamming drum breaks cement this presence. Even through the symphony, though, there’s a bit of whimsy that gives it an atmospheric feel.

Moments of coldness and yearning rear their head throughout the track, as she calls out to the world: “When will I stop feeling alone?” Every moment is filled with a potency that shakes you to your core, letting the lyrics and melody work together to sway you through the six-minute story.

For those looking for a song that’s equal parts experimental and impassioned, “Spiral” is just what you’re looking for. OK Goodnight just doesn’t know how to let down, and that’s amazing for us listeners.

Their new album ‘stop/go’ is set to come out on June 12th. Preorder it by clicking HERE!
