KNOCKED LOOSE AND POPPY SPARK CONTROVERSY AFTER GROUNDBREAKING PERFORMANCE AT JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!

One thing people are always going to do is complain. This week, Knocked Loose was the center of attention after their history-making performance at Jimmy Kimmel Live! put hardcore on the silver screen nationwide. The guest appearance by super starlet Poppy was the cherry on top of an ambitious evening. Many were celebratory, as they should be; this feat was reminiscent of the rebellious efforts of legacy TV hosts like Johnny Carson, who invited metal bands on the show despite the backlash.

However, a new era of “Satanic Panic” and purity culture has emerged. Unfortunately, this unleashed a legion of negative Nancy’s (Reagan’s?) as a result after the hardcore heavy hitters took the stage on a rainy Los Angeles evening. Their set was short, but long enough to ruffle some feathers.

This started based on a relatively new meme format after a disgruntled teenage Swiftie left a Sabrina Carpenter concert angry that they were exposed to “Juno” shenanigans. It reads:

“I’m 17 and AFRAID of Sabrina Carpenter.”

This shitposting made its way to the metal side of social media:
”I was sitting on the couch with my son who is an ADOLESCENT waiting to see the musical guest because we like the nice music the show usually books. By the third or fourth ‘JUNT’ of the guitars, my son was in tears. He doesn’t like scary things, and quite frankly, I think the Kimmel show and its staff should make a formal apology.”

Here’s what we assume the Kimmel staff would have to say:

“Knocked Loose mother fucker.”

But really—why’s your kid up that late on a weekday, and so sensitive to a few distorted guitars?
