KNOCKED LOOSE STUNS IN MONUMENTAL JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! PERFORMANCE
Heavyweight champs Knocked Loose have officially done it, breaking through genre-based barriers, and hitting the mainstream with a gusto unbeknownst to man. Their star power has earned a legion of diehard fans. Some may even surprise you, with people who previously observed the genre from the sidelines fully converting to the dark side. Their performance at Jimmy Kimmel Live! solidifies their spots as scene superstars.
This performance was also found to have perfect timing; this wouldn’t be the first moment in history when heavy metal was necessary to bring people comfort. The turnout alone is indicative of a larger-scale desire to voice frustrations. A mainstream outlet like Jimmy Kimmel Live! even allows Knocked Loose to bring their rough-around-the-edges crowd to national cable TV, which is an enormous feat in and of itself. Historical TV show hosts like Johnny Carson showed their solidarity by hosting heavy metal acts during controversial Regan policies, too.
Fans crowded the outdoor concert venue on a rainy LA evening. It was dark and wet, a fantastic time for all who attended. Individuals reported an additional thrill, knowing they might have had their own “hi mom!” moment crowd surfing on national TV. Plenty of mosh pits abound, and Knocked Loose, and their fans did not tone it down to match any expectations of the show.

Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s music producer, Mac Burrus, had this to say to Get Some Magazine about booking Knocked Loose: “It was easy to see that the band deserved the attention they received. We are glad we got the chance to bring them to the Kimmel audience and help them find new fans. We knew their existing fans were going to bring a lot of energy and excitement and we were here for it and ready for it as well. I got a kick out of the social media posts their fans were putting up in anticipation of the episode. Our goal is always to try and bring the experience of each artist to the viewer and we think we did just that. The rain was just an unexpected delight. Jimmy Kimmel Live! is a late night variety show and variety is exactly what Jim Pitt and I try to bring to Jimmy and the audiences watching on screens. Big thanks to Knocked Loose band, team, and especially fans for “bringing it.””

Though brief, their set included a guest performance by Poppy for their dual-effort, “Suffocate.”
This short-and-sweet set comes ahead of their Grammy nomination, a massive leap in the right direction for the hardcore scene. Though the LA skies may be rainy, the future looks bright and sunny.
