On May 19th and 20th, Ice Nine Kills brought their Silver Scream-A-Thon tour to Chicago's Riviera Theatre and Grand Rapids' GLC Live at 20 Monroe, delivering two nights of horror-infused metalcore that left fans exhilarated.
Night One: The Silver Scream in Chicago
At the Riviera Theatre, the band performed their 2018 album The Silver Scream. The setlist included fan favorites like "The American Nightmare," "Stabbing in the Dark," and "A Grave Mistake." Frontman Spencer Charnas led the charge, embodying various horror characters and engaging the crowd with theatrical flair. The band's performance was tight, and the audience responded with enthusiastic mosh pits and sing-alongs.
Night Two: Welcome to Horrorwood in Grand Rapids
The following night at GLC Live at 20 Monroe, Ice Nine Kills showcased their 2021 sequel album The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood. Tracks like "Hip to Be Scared," "Assault & Batteries," and "Rainy Day" highlighted the band's ability to blend cinematic storytelling with heavy riffs. The stage production featured elaborate props and costumes, enhancing the immersive experience.
These performances were part of the band's ongoing Silver Scream-A-Thon tour, where they present both albums over two nights in each city. The tour has been praised for its unique concept and execution, offering fans a comprehensive live experience of Ice Nine Kills' horror-themed discography.
