DEAD & COMPANY ANNOUNCE THREE-NIGHT GOLDEN GATE PARK RUN WITH SPECIAL GUESTS
Dead & Company are set to make a historic return to San Francisco this summer with a monumental three-night stand in Golden Gate Park’s Polo Fields from August 1–3, 2025. The shows will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead—right in the heart of the city where the legend was born.
This once-in-a-generation run will feature original members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, joined by longtime collaborators John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti, and Jay Lane. It's a full-circle moment for Deadheads and a fitting tribute to the band's deep San Francisco roots.
But it gets even better. Each night will include a special guest set: bluegrass phenom Billy Strings will open the festivities on August 1, followed by Sturgill Simpson—appearing under his new moniker “Johnny Blue Skies”—on August 2, and the incomparable Trey Anastasio Band on August 3. It’s a dream lineup for jam band lovers and Americana heads alike.
These shows are expected to draw up to 60,000 attendees per day, making it one of the largest cultural events San Francisco has seen in years. Beyond the music, the event will also generate a significant economic boost, echoing past major festivals in the park that pulled in tens of millions for the local economy.
Organized by Another Planet Entertainment and Live Nation in partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, this celebration of The Dead’s 60-year legacy is more than just a concert series—it’s a communal pilgrimage.
