HOLLOW YOUTH MAKES THE WHOLE WORLD BLIND ON THEIR LATEST SINGLE “EYE FOR AN EYE”

As the final single leading into their debut album Death…Means Nothing At All, which officially drops today, Guernsey metalcore newcomers Hollow Youth close things out with “Eye For An Eye,” and it hits like a warning shot for the full record.

Like their earlier releases, the band doesn’t dance around anything. “Eye For An Eye” goes straight at the idea of justice, questioning what it actually means and calling out the lack of empathy and unity that seems to define it lately. It’s blunt, and it’s meant to be.

After a short buildup, the track snaps into place and doesn’t let up. The guitars come in heavy and sharp, the rhythm locks into a groove that keeps pushing forward, and Tom Domaille’s vocals carry a real sense of urgency. There’s a balance here between chaos and control that works in their favor, with Martyn Brown and Iain Baxter trading off riffs that feel both aggressive and deliberate.

It all builds toward a closing breakdown that doesn’t try to be clever; it just hits hard. That final moment feels like the point they’ve been driving toward the whole time.

There’s a bit of that Soulfly spirit in here, not just in the sound but in the attitude. It’s direct, it’s confrontational, and it’s rooted in something they actually care about.

With Death…Means Nothing At All is out now. “Eye For An Eye” feels like a fitting final statement and a strong indicator that Hollow Youth aren’t easing into anything.
