THE TALL PINES’ “ABDUCTED BY LOVE” IS RETRO, COOL ALT-GARAGE ROCK LOADED WITH SWAGGER

The Tall Pines’ “Abducted By Love” thrives on a stripped-down, two-piece setup that feels raw and immediate, very much in the spirit of a duo like The White Stripes. Connie Lynn Petruk leads with powerhouse vocals while pounding out rhythms on an alligator skin suitcase, giving the track a gritty, off-the-floor pulse. Opposite her, Christmas Davis brings the attitude with slick, fuzz-drenched guitar work and wild, howling backing vocals that add to the track’s loose, unhinged energy.

“Abducted By Love” plays out like a fevered story, told from the perspective of someone completely overtaken by desire. It leans into intensity and obsession, capturing that feeling of losing control without trying to smooth it over or make it polite.

The band has been clear about their intent, calling the track the opposite of today’s curated, app-driven, overly cautious dating culture. And it shows. There’s nothing filtered here. It’s bold, a little reckless, and fully committed to its own lane.

In a time where everything feels overly calculated, “Abducted By Love” lands as a throwback to something more instinctual. It’s rough around the edges, unapologetic, and not concerned with how it’ll be received. That’s exactly what gives it its bite.
