MILITARIE GUN DROP “KICK” VIDEO AS TOUR ROLLS THROUGH LA APRIL 11
Hardcore-leaning alt outfit Militarie Gun keep their momentum rolling with the release of a new music video for “Kick,” alongside a stripped-down but no less impactful Tiny Desk performance.
The track, taken from their acclaimed second album God Save The Gun (out now via Loma Vista Recordings), continues to showcase the band’s ability to balance urgency with melody. “Kick” hits hard without overcomplicating things, tight, punchy, and built around a hook that sticks.
The video, directed and edited by Manuel Casanova, visually expands on that energy. Filmed during the band’s recent UK run, it jumps between shots of Militarie Gun performing across British suburbia, parks, gyms, even the back seats of taxi cabs, and sweat-drenched footage from their biggest London headline show yet at Camden’s Electric Ballroom. The contrast works. It captures both the chaos of their live shows and the everyday environments they bring that energy into.
Additional editing and VFX by guitarist William Acuña add another layer to the visuals, with support from photographer Derek Rathbun and gaffer Shaun Waldie in bringing it all together.
The release lands while the band is currently out on the road in the U.S. supporting Joyce Manor, and they’ll be hitting Pacific Electric on April 11, giving LA fans a chance to catch that same intensity up close at one of the city’s newest venues.
