EYEDRESS SERENADES WITH NEW SINGLE “FINAL ACT OF LOVE” FT. KNUCKLEHEAD TOM

Eyedress is the solo project of Filipino artist Idris Vicuña. Born in the Philippines and now based in Los Angeles, Vicuña started Eyedress around 2012, releasing the Supernatural EP not long after. Before going solo, he was a member of Bee Eyes, an indie-grunge band from Manila.

If you spent any amount of time on the internet during 2020, there’s a pretty damn good chance you’ve heard Eyedress without even realizing it. “Jealous” and “Romantic Lover” from his album Let’s Skip to the Wedding went viral, finding a massive audience during a time when everyone was stuck inside and chronically online. Let’s be honest, those songs probably ended up on your TikTok playlist. We all had one.

Eyedress returned on August 7 with his latest single, “Final Act of Love,” featuring Knucklehead Tom. The track pairs a groovy guitar line with mellow vocals and just enough darkwave influence to give it an edge. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to take a hike, lie in the sun, hop on a penny board, or just go make some core memories with people you actually like. Fans of Clairo, Orion Sun, TV Girl, or Glass Animals should feel right at home here.

There’s something incredibly nostalgic about the song’s smooth indie flow. It feels like being dropped straight back into that overly saturated, ridiculously colorful indie aesthetic that practically owned the internet for a minute. So add “Final Act of Love” to that old TikTok playlist, throw some rainbow clips in your hair, and just vibe with it.
