TEEN SUICIDE SHARE NEW SINGLE “SUFFERING (MIKE’S WAY)” WITH RAW NEW VIDEO
Teen Suicide is back with a new single, “Suffering (Mike’s Way),” and it shows a different side of the band heading into their next release.
The track leans into a more upbeat lane than you might expect. Jangly indie punk guitars, bubbling keys, and a hook that actually sticks on first listen. It’s still got that familiar emotional weight, but there’s a lighter, almost optimistic edge running through it this time.
The accompanying video matches that energy. Nothing overthought, nothing overly polished. Just visuals that feel grounded and in line with the song, letting the track do the heavy lifting.
“Suffering (Mike’s Way)” is the latest preview of the band’s upcoming album Nude Descending Staircase Headless, out Friday, April 17 via Run For Cover Records. The record marks the band’s first proper studio album and a clear shift into a new chapter.
Produced by Mike Sapone, the album delivers a noticeable jump in fidelity while still holding on to everything that made Teen Suicide resonate in the first place. The rough edges are still there, just sharpened. Earlier singles “Idiot” and “Spiders” hinted at a heavier, more blown-out sound, but “Suffering (Mike’s Way)” shows the range, pulling things into something more immediate and accessible without losing identity.
Frontman Sam Ray has always had a way of making songs feel personal without overexplaining them, and that still holds here. The difference now is the scale. The songs feel bigger, clearer, but still unmistakably theirs.
For longtime fans, it’s a natural progression. For newer listeners, it’s probably the easiest entry point the band’s ever had.
