CUTTHROAT SIGN TO M-THEORY AUDIO AND DROP VICIOUS NEW SINGLE “PURGE”
L.A. hardcore keeps producing bands that feel like a problem in the best way, and Cutthroat are one of them.
The band just signed with M-Theory Audio and wasted zero time making it known. Alongside the announcement comes “Purge,” a new single and video that hits like a warning shot more than a rollout.
“Built in chaos. Refined in violence,” says vocalist Neil Roemer. “This isn’t a new beginning — this is an escalation.”
That tracks. “Purge” doesn’t feel like a reset; it feels like the band kicking the door in harder than before. Fast, aggressive, no wasted motion. There’s a hardcore backbone, but it bleeds into thrash, hip hop bounce, and enough groove to pull in people outside the usual lane.
The track also doubles as the title cut for their upcoming EP The Purge, due August 14. It’s a tight, five-song release limited to 300 colored vinyl copies and a jewel case CD, with artwork handled by Mick Lambrou, whose resume runs through Agnostic Front, Slapshot, and Sick Of It All. To back it up, Cutthroat are taking it overseas this summer, linking up with Bay Area thrash vets Vio-lence for a European run. It’s the kind of pairing that makes sense immediately and the kind of tour that’s going to hit hard in every room it touches.
Cutthroat have been grinding out of the L.A. scene for a minute, stacking releases and taking it worldwide. The reputation’s already there. This just puts a bigger spotlight on it. Let’s f**king go!
