TURNOVER ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM DOWN ON EARTH, DROP TWO NEW SINGLES

Turnover is back with a new album and a pair of tracks to set the tone.

Down On Earth lands May 29, and alongside the announcement, the band shared two new singles, “Nightjar” and “I See You And Realize.” Both tracks lean into the hazy, melodic lane Turnover has carved out over the years, but there’s a subtle shift here. It feels more grounded, more reflective, like the band is pulling things inward instead of drifting further out.

“Nightjar” carries that late-night, half-awake energy they’ve perfected, while “I See You And Realize” feels more direct, emotionally sharper without losing the atmosphere. Together, they give a clear first look at what Down On Earth is aiming for. Less escape, more presence.

The album’s cover artwork adds another layer to that feeling. The band tapped renowned photographer Nick Waplington for the image, a choice that leans into the record’s bigger themes. Bassist Danny Dempsey explains it simply. He wanted something that sticks with you the way photos do. The image feels untethered from time. It could be now, decades ago, or somewhere ahead, and that ambiguity is the point. It pulls you in without fully explaining itself.

Turnover hit the road June 3 for a North American run with Narrow Head and She’s Green, a lineup that fits the mood front to back and should translate well live. Click HERE for tickets.
