BODEGA RETURN WITH “PICK UP THE CHECK” AND ZERO PATIENCE

BODEGA are back, and “Pick Up The Check” gets straight to it. Tight, talk-sung, a little sarcastic, a little tense. No buildup, just right into it.
Out now on Chrysalis Records, the single is the NYC band’s first look at what they’ve got lined up for 2026. It also comes with a video directed by guitarist and vocalist Ben Hozie, which fits the track’s tone perfectly.
Musically, it’s classic BODEGA. Choppy guitars, locked-in rhythm, nothing wasted. The real weight is in the idea behind it. Hozie sets it in this fake fancy restaurant setting, art deco walls, fish tank vibes, the kind of place where you’re supposed to be having a good time but something feels off. From there it opens up into something real. Sticking around in situations that don’t inspire you just to keep the peace.
That tension runs through the whole track. It’s about imbalance, quiet resentment, knowing when something’s not right and staying anyway. BODEGA don’t overplay it. They just let it sit there and hit.
“Pick Up The Check” is simple on the surface, but there’s a point underneath it. At some point, you stop being polite, get up from the table, and move on.
