The Winnipeg hardcore veterans are preparing to unleash their eighth studio album, ‘Chosen Hell,’ this Friday, November 6, through SharpTone Records in the United States and Dine Alone Records in Canada. If you need another reason to pay attention, they've brought one of modern metal's most recognizable voices along for the ride.
Their latest single, “Shedding Season,” features Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox, bringing together two generations of Canadian heavy music for a long-overdue collaboration.
For a band that helped shape modern melodic hardcore, Comeback Kid has never been particularly interested in slowing down. From their early days in Winnipeg to becoming an international hardcore institution, they've built their reputation on relentless touring, massive singalongs, and the kind of live energy that leaves everyone in the room completely spent.
Now, with “Shedding Season,” they're bridging the gap between hardcore's old guard and the genre-bending world of contemporary metal.
LaPlante's involvement is particularly fitting.
