CHARLES COSTA’S “FEEL EVERY MINUTE” IS WISTFULLY YET DECADENTLY NOSTALGIC

“Feel Every Minute” taps into many things relatable to everyone on some level, regardless of your experiences. Formerly known as “King Charles, Charles Costa is now going by his birth name and has delivered a single that reflects on a specific time in his life: a very heady and glamorous one in Manhattan, NY. It was marked by very high highs and crashing, humbling lows. It was during his “previous era” otherworldly persona, but a lot has dramatically changed, though his talent remains totally original and truly singular.

A multi-genre electronic British folk artist, Costa has found another pursuit and passion that’s a source of inspiration besides his music: ultra-distance running for charity endeavors that focus on his mental health and the illness in general. It has revitalized his life and, in turn, revived his career.

In 2015, he was working on his original debut LP, ‘LifeBlood,’ Charles tragically suffered a catastrophic skiing accident in Austria. Brain trauma was the result of accompanying psychological issues that were managed with heavy-duty medication, predominantly to reduce anxiety. As a result, the brain trauma left him feeling literally like a different person while he was putting together his debut album, ‘LoveBlood,’ and two additional albums were released under the name King Charles.

Charles Costa is about to release his self-titled LP on January 24th. Until that album drops, enjoy and savor “Feel Every Minute,” which combines introspection and vulnerability into an emotionally satisfying single. It is dynamic and bold in an adventurous, experimental way with an intriguing, unpredictable pastiche of alternative indie pop throughout with an explosion of disparate and dissonant soundscapes.
