ARM’S LENGTH DROP “FUNNY FACE” VIDEO FROM LATEST ALBUM
Canadian emo powerhouses Arm’s Length have released a gripping new music video for their track “Funny Face,” pulled from their acclaimed sophomore album There’s a Big Star Outside, out now via Wax Bodega.
“Funny Face” is one of the album’s heaviest, most emotionally raw moments, built around themes of toxic dependency, emotional disconnect, and the invisible war between self-worth and external validation. The music video, directed by Alex Scalzo-Brown, captures that chaos with stark visuals, unsettling edits, and a sense of spiraling unease that matches the song’s dissonant textures and lyrical honesty.
Guitarist and vocalist Allen Steinberg has described the song as “one of our darkest, heaviest tracks,” written to reflect the emotional aftermath of being brought down by someone you once trusted. That weight translates clearly in both the song and the visual—a slow-burning emotional descent that crashes into the chorus with pure cathartic force.
There’s a Big Star Outside marks another high point for Arm’s Length, pushing the boundaries of modern emo while staying rooted in the genre’s heartfelt storytelling and sonic vulnerability. “Funny Face” stands as a centerpiece of that effort: moody, jagged, and honest to the core.
