BROADSIDE DELIVERS POP-ROCK GOODNESS IN THEIR NEWEST SINGL “WARNING SIGNS”

Pop-rock is having its moment right now, and we are all thankful for it. With bands like Broadside and The Home Team joining the Thriller Records roster, this seems to be an era for artists who love combining catchy pop hooks with hard-hitting guitar riffs. I, for one, am grateful. Broadside’s new single, “Warning Signs,” is abundantly catchy and masterfully curated.

The overlap between pop rock and pop punk is significant and often overlooked. People usually forget that the genres emerged around the same time, ultimately influencing each other and their respective audiences organically. This same phenomenon has come full circle, with artists like Broadside leading the way.

Don’t get it twisted, though; the word “pop” does not mean a song was “easy” to produce or write. Instead, it can be vastly complex to curate relatable nuances in a time crunch, like the 2:54 Broadside was working with in “Warning Signs.” This era of pop-rock is marked by a robust mix, soulful lead vocals, and a sprinkle of glitchy inlays sprinkled throughout.

Lyrically, “warning sings like neon lights all over the wall/you love to act like I don’t see them at all” are SO good. Broadside has always been incredible at clever wordplay, and “Warning Signs” continues the rollout of a fantastic era for the band.
