MARYLAND TWO-PIECE BLEEK GETS LOUD AND HEAVY ON NEW SINGLE “FINS”
Bleek is a two-piece band hailing from the small town of Berlin, just outside Ocean City, Maryland, and quite frankly, this band does not have nearly enough Spotify plays. Don’t let the name fool you either, because there’s absolutely nothing bleak about what these two are putting together. On August 7, Bleek dropped their latest single, “Fins,” and it’s another reason you should probably start paying attention.
“Fins” is loaded with heavy, syncopated breakdowns that feel like Cannibal Corpse colliding headfirst with Lightning Bolt’s brand of noisy musical mayhem. Every chug hits with enough weight to make you want to full-body headbang, while the vocals bring an entirely different flavor to the track, carrying an energy that lands somewhere between Deftones and Foo Fighters. Somehow, all of those influences work together without the song feeling like it’s trying to do too much. Instead, “Fins” sounds like my newest song hyper-fixation of the week. Well, at least until Bleek releases another one.
You can catch Bleek live on August 30 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, for just $10. Check out the band’s socials for more details, and if you make it into the pit, keep your shoes tied tight. I have no doubt Bleek will rock your socks off… literally.
