INFECTED RAIN UNLEASH “STRANGER,” A DARK, SPLIT-IDENTITY DESCENT

Infected Rain are back and not exactly in a friendly mood.
Formed in Chișinău, Moldova, the band has grown into one of the more distinct names in modern heavy music, blending metalcore, nu-metal, and alternative influences into something that feels both aggressive and emotional.
Their new single “Stranger,” out now with a video, leans into that identity hard. The track moves between hypnotic clean moments and sudden bursts of heaviness, keeping everything right on edge without losing control.
Lyrically, it cuts deep. Lena Scissorhands says the song comes from that moment when you stop recognizing yourself, when the person you’ve become doesn’t line up with who you thought you’d be. It’s that internal fight with identity and trying to find your way back.
The video takes that idea and runs with it. Set inside what feels like an abandoned factory, Lena appears to play two versions of herself, one human, one masked and more unsettling. It adds an eerie, split-identity tension that aligns perfectly with the track’s theme.
The release also lands just before Infected Rain’s “Mutation Phase” tour with Butcher Babies kicks off March 25 in Glasgow, bringing this track straight to the stage.
“Stranger” feels like another step forward for a band that already knows exactly what they’re doing.
