San Diego's beloved surf-punk troublemakers Wavves are back with another dose of sun-soaked distortion. The band has released their latest single, “We Get Around,” offering fans another taste of their upcoming album, Cherry Soda, arriving November 13 via I Surrender and Bose Records.
For a band that helped define the late-2000s wave of lo-fi garage rock and surf punk, coming full circle feels particularly fitting. Wavves built their reputation on fuzzy guitars, infectious melodies, and a scrappy, carefree attitude that made their music sound like the soundtrack to an endless summer.
With “We Get Around,” the band revisits that spirit as they prepare to introduce their next full-length record. It's a return to the energy and personality that made Wavves a favorite among indie rock and punk fans, while opening the door to another chapter in their evolving sound.
Led by Nathan Williams, Wavves have spent nearly two decades carving out their own lane between garage rock, punk, and indie pop. From their early DIY recordings to breakthrough releases like King of the Beach and Afraid of Heights, the band has consistently balanced raw, distorted guitars with melodies that stick around long after the music stops.
The upcoming Cherry Soda promises another chapter in that journey, with “We Get Around” setting the stage for what's to come. Whether you've followed Wavves since their earliest bedroom recordings or discovered them along the way, there's something appealing about a band reconnecting with the sound that put them on the map.
Wavves’ new album Cherry Soda arrives November 13 via I Surrender and Bose Records.
