TURNER BURN BRIGHT AND FAST ON FIERY NEW SINGLE “DIE IN A FIRE”
Turner is back, and they come out spitting fire on their new song “Die In A Fire.” The track closes out the Louisville, Kentucky band’s five-song EP Don’t Tell My Dad, which is out now.
At barely a minute, “Die In A Fire” doesn’t have time to screw around. Instead, Turner packs every second with chaotic, ridiculously fun energy while digging into the kind of morbid intrusive thoughts that randomly creep into your head. “What if I die…” becomes the starting point for a song that somehow makes an existential crisis sound like a pretty damn good time.
Musically, it’s an indie emo-rock banger. The production is crisp without sanding off the rough edges, and the vocals sit front and center, delivered with the kind of energy that makes you want to shout along before you even know the words.
The second half really takes off as cataclysmic drums collide with bright, rhythmic guitars, bringing a little skate punk energy into the mix. It’s fast, catchy, and practically begs you to get moving.
And then, just like that, Turner is gone. “Die In A Fire” burns out almost as quickly as it started, leaving just enough chaos to make you want to run it back immediately.
