The Matthew Teardrop Orchestra’s new single “Hard Feelings” and its accompanying music video rule. They just do. Musically, the band’s latest tune is a deceptively upbeat toe-tapper. Despite the hard feelings described throughout the song’s lyrics, the jangly guitars, vibrant bass grooves, and ultra-snappy drums push this track into infectious, feel-good music territory. As for their new video, sequences of the band rocking out in a cramped van alongside enthused friends while driving around Detroit makes for a wildly entertaining experience. Again, the “Hard Feelings” music is so earnest and enjoyable that it makes the song’s new video even more compelling.
