ALLAPARTUS RELEASE MUSIC VIDEO FOR LATEST SINGLE “CHOICE”

NYC-based group Allapartus has given us a new music video with their new single “Choice” - a song about the severe lack of the aforementioned word in our current state of society.

The video opens with the band in a field with their instruments, giving us a liminal feeling as the song starts. We follow the storyline of someone on a mundane journey via train to meet up with friends. I think it speaks to the youth of today, just trying to have a good time with friends, no matter how they look or identify. The group of friends ends up at the band’s show at the climax of the song, giving us the joyous feeling of what happens when we aren’t focused on anything but human connection.

The band tells us, “Choice is a 35mm film music video directed by Tom Van Scoyoc for our new single.” “The lyrics explore what "freedom" means in the context of a post-Roe V Wade America and how changing policies affect working-class people.

For this music video, we've embraced our roots in the local DIY scene - but lensed it in the spirit of the televised pop-punk era of the early 2000s. "CHOICE" asks the audience to revisit the joy we once found in our teenage angst, to revel in the face of current injustice, and to imagine a better future for ourselves.”

If you want the feeling of getting a break and hanging with friends to enjoy what’s good at the moment, despite what’s going on in the world -  go give it a watch!
