The Interrupters are back, and holy hell, have they delivered. Their gigantic new single, “Warrior Spirit,” is easily one of the most infectious tracks we’ve heard in 2026, bringing a fresh sound to the band’s signature ska-punk energy.
It’s been four years since the release of their last album, 2022’s In The Wild, and The Interrupters aren't exactly easing their way back into the spotlight. “Warrior Spirit” finds the band diving headfirst into new wave territory, trading some of their familiar ska rhythms for a healthy dose of '80s-inspired synthesizers, hypnotic melodies, and a chorus that practically begs to be played on repeat. The result is a ridiculously catchy collision of ska, punk, and new wave that somehow feels both nostalgic and completely fresh.
But perhaps the wildest part of “Warrior Spirit” is the sheer amount of punk rock royalty involved in bringing it to life. For their grand return, The Interrupters enlisted some seriously legendary friends, including Tim Armstrong (Rancid), Jesse Michaels (Operation Ivy), Travis Barker (Blink-182), and Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion). That's one hell of a lineup, and the collaborative spirit behind the track makes its arrival even more exciting.
Frontwoman Aimee Interrupter sounds fantastic throughout, her unmistakable voice gliding over the shimmering synths while maintaining the grit and attitude that made us fall in love with the band in the first place. There’s a certain magic to hearing The Interrupters experiment with their sound without losing sight of what makes them the Interrupters.
