TEMPLES SLOWS IT DOWN IN NEW TRACK “BLUE FLAME”

Temples take a break from the dance floor and shift into contemplative, ambient drama in their new song, “Blue Flame.” The track is another taste of their upcoming LP, ‘BLISS.’ With other recent releases boasting groove and power, slower, powerful tracks like this one show the band’s diversity.
With gothic touches from the buzzing synth and shredding guitar, the band embodies a darker energy. It has hints of ’90s indie electronic, with a psychedelic mix that really propels the song.
Full of atmospheric twists, the instrumentals create the perfect stage to reveal a broken relationship. Motifs of fire and solitude catapult listeners into a scene of destruction – or rather, what’s left in the ashes. With muffled, echoed vocals, James Bagshaw cries out the sorrows of a situation that is out of his hands.
The slower tempo allows listeners to soak up every beat, truly rejoicing in a soft, melancholic sound.
“Blue Flame” is packed full of potent and full of sorrowful yearning, crafting a new edge for the band. Temples prove through authenticity and experimentation that they can effortlessly tackle any sound.
