TARUL DROPS NEW SHOEGAZE DREAM “LOOMS”

This fuzzy indie rock gem gets off to a quick start, highlighting Tarul’s mesmerizing, filtered vocals with just a distorted guitar underneath, evolving into a driving riff that becomes increasingly catchy. In classic shoegaze fashion, this song layers distorted, feel-good guitar melodies, sing-along “oooo”s in the chorus, and fun melodic synths that punctuate this raw production style. It will strike you right in the happy-sad feeling that we all love about indie rock music, and evoke a certain nostalgia for fans of My Bloody Valentine and Dinosaur Jr.

The track touches a sentiment that is painfully and widely relatable, the artist shares with us: “Subject-wise, the track goes over how I processed the death of my grandmother in India. However, despite my grief of her passing, I recognize that I didn't call her nearly enough, and that much of my feeling of guilt is self-inflicted. Like the rest of the tracks in the album, this song covers self-loathing, inability (or resistance) to change, and the ultimate question of whether nature or nurture shapes us all.”

If you loved Looms, you’ll be psyched to know that this is just the first single of Tarul’s upcoming album, “Whether by Nature or Nurture, Small” - scheduled for June release!
