STRANGE PINK UNLEASHES GRITTY PUNK TRACK “MY FRIEND AND YOU”

English punk is SO back. Rockers Strange Pink have been carrying the torch flawlessly, passed down by legends from decades prior. Their new sound pays homage to the greats without overdoing it. Instead, Strange Pink consistently delivers fun, bass-driven, riffy punk rock, made for a global audience. Their latest effort, “My Friend and You,” introspectively analyzes relationship dynamics.

This take on punk is refreshing. While apolitical, this song touches on deep aspects of humanity. It questions our place within the lives of others. It dares to confront every choice we make, and the consequences we face because of them… all with catchy riffs guiding the way.

The first verse is especially fascinating lyrically. It describes a feeling of frustration through the lens of a wider world existing outside of what was familiar. It’s not necessarily that the narrator hates their hometown, but rather, has an undeniable yearning to see what else is out there, driven by a relentless desire to explore.

Sure, it’s a bit on the pessimistic side; the lyrics lean more towards relationships causing problems.

However, “My Friend and You” by Strange Pink also explores the positive, life-altering impacts our connections have on us.
