STEEL WOOL DROPS FINAL HIGHLIGHT SINGLE “FADING” FROM THEIR DEBUT EP

Los Angeles-based Steel Wool delivers a true shoegaze masterpiece with their new single, “Fading,” a highlight from their latest self-titled EP ( out on April 10th). The song effortlessly blends shoegaze, indie rock, and bedroom/dream pop in a melancholic yet hopeful and upbeat way that will have you hitting repeat as soon as it ends. It’s surprising, daring, and a huge statement song that will make a noticeable mark in the indie rock scene.

Creating a dream-like world of production, with an atmosphere of reverb-drenched layers of indie-pop guitars, this song will give you a fuzzy nostalgic feeling from the moment it starts. The band’s heartfelt lyrics about being misunderstood, overlooked, and thrown away are painfully relatable (Turn me away / ‘Cause I’m damaged goods / These chemicals are in my blood to stay”) and buried in the chorus, we hear cathartic midwest-emo-esque yelling with tons of blurry and echoing layers of Sean Lissner’s emotional vocals - something you probably haven’t heard done quite like this. The addition was such a refreshing and unique surprise, emotionally taking the listener somewhere they weren’t expecting. This song builds into a wall of sound that takes you under its wing and into its world for good, where you’ll want to stay.

This is for fans of Turnover, Gleemer, and Title Fight. Cheers to your new favorite shoegaze EP!
