GORE. RETURN WITH VIDEO FOR BLOOD-CHILLING NEW SINGLE “SEPSIS”

After a long silence that felt like an eternity for fans of their unrelenting, gut-ripping sound, GORE. has reemerged from the shadows—and they’re not easing back in. The band just dropped their new single “Sepsis” alongside a blood-soaked, viscerally disturbing music video that makes one thing abundantly clear: GORE. are back, and they’re more terrifying than ever.

Clocking in at just under four minutes, “Sepsis” is a sonic horror show—grimy, violent, and disturbingly precise. It opens with a slow, creeping build that feels like the calm before a surgical procedure gone wrong, before detonating into full-blown chaos: blast beats, down-tuned riffs, guttural screams, and moments of eerie silence that make the brutality hit even harder. There’s a mechanical quality to the precision, but the rage feels primal—like something diseased that can’t be contained.

The music video, directed by frequent visual collaborator Ned Ingalls, is equal parts body horror and psychological nightmare. It’s a twisted descent into a surgical fever dream, packed with clinical lighting, invasive camera angles, and visuals that feel more like they belong in a morgue than on a screen. If you’ve got a weak stomach, proceed with caution—GORE. didn’t hold back.

"This song is about a friend who was in a relationship with someone diagnosed with bipolar disorder (BPD) that went untreated," Roughton explains. "I attempted to write it from his perspective, after seeing him try to salvage a relationship where he was constantly challenged and abused. I could only imagine how difficult it is knowing that the person you love is ill and staying by their side, even when the relationship feels like torment.”

Regarding the accompanying visual, Roughton shares, "The music video reflects that isolation and what it's like to be trapped inside your own head and thoughts. Hence why it's just me and a double the whole time."

Lyrically, “Sepsis” digs into the rot beneath the surface, both literal and emotional. It’s about infection, corruption, and the slow, inevitable breakdown of everything you thought was functioning just fine. Like much of GORE.’s catalog, it’s not subtle, but that’s the point: the decay is front and center, and there’s no escape.

After years of silence, “Sepsis” feels like a warning shot—and maybe a promise. If this is the sound of GORE. reawakening, we’re absolutely not ready for what’s coming next. But we’ll be watching, wide-eyed, anyway.
