VIVA MUSIC FEST NIGHT TWO IGNITES POMONA WITH GENRE BLENDING SETS AND DIY SPIRIT

Viva Music Fest night two, held in Pomona, California on Sunday, November 23, was overflowing with energy from the moment the first set began. The atmosphere felt alive before the sun even set, and once the music kicked in, the entire space transformed into a celebration of every corner of the alternative scene. The lineup blended shoegaze, indie, Spanish rock, hardcore, and everything in between, offering a catalog so varied and curated that anyone with even a hint of musical taste could find something to connect with.
One of the most impressive aspects of the night was how smoothly everything ran. The set times were carefully arranged, giving festivalgoers the freedom to drift between artists without missing the key moments that make live music so special. It created a seamless flow from stage to stage, a steady pulse of sound that never faltered. Even the food trucks became part of the evening's rhythm. Grabbing something to eat between sets added a sense of comfort and community, a reminder that festivals are as much about shared experience as they are about performance.
From a photographer’s perspective, night two was a dream. The combination of a pop-up outdoor stage, a natural terrain setup, and an indoor venue made the entire event feel like a polished DIY show in the best possible way. Each location had its own character, lighting quirks, and challenges that made shooting genuinely exciting. I met several local scene photographers between sets, many of whom I had only known through social media until that night. Meeting them in person added to the festival's warmth and reinforced the sense that Viva is becoming a true community hub for artists, fans, and creators alike.
Of course, no festival is without chaos. Late into the night, the main stage slipped off schedule, and one band went on earlier than planned. As any concert photographer knows, that can throw everything into disarray, especially if you’re preparing to shoot the first three songs from the pit. But part of the job is adapting on the fly, and the scramble to reposition and adjust only made the eventual shots more rewarding. Moments like that are what keep live photography thrilling.
Viva Fest 2025 night two delivered a phenomenal conclusion to the weekend. With its diverse lineup, smooth logistics, rich sense of community, and unforgettable performances, it felt like one of those rare events where everything aligns. The music, the people, the atmosphere, and the energy all came together to create a night that will stick with everyone who was there.
