PARAMORE BLACKS OUT ALL SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS UPON DEPARTURE FROM ATLANTIC RECORDS

Paramore, a rock band from Franklin, TN, has been turning heads since the early 2000s by releasing some of the most anthemic emo hits of all time. They have amassed a huge legion of dedicated die-hard fans, celebrity friends, and iconic performances throughout their career. The band has hit a massive turning point after their contract with Atlantic Records ended earlier this year.’

An interview with Uproxx suggests, “all three members agreed that there’s a level of uncertainty.” (Droke) This open-ended statement left fans on edge; “uncertainty” has changed the foundation of Paramore many times over, and those who have stood by wonder how many more changes the band can withstand.

However, there is hope yet! It appears that these “free agents” are teasing more new material rather than signifying the end of the band as fans have grown to know and love it. 

Each official social media account linked to the band, including lead vocalist Hayley Williams’ main Instagram account, has been completely blacked out, totally purged of all content. This wouldn’t be the first time the band used this tactic to signal towards new music, either. 

During their last performance on tour, Williams stated that the This Is Why era would end with that tour. Given their upcoming performances opening for Taylor Swift, it is safe to assume that Paramore has some tricks up their sleeve.

Bands who have been in the scene for as long as Paramore feel creatively free when they break major label contracts, allowing themselves to make whatever they want. If anything, this period could bring about some of Paramore’s most groundbreaking work.
