ORIGAMI ANGEL ANNOUNCES NEW FULL-LENGTH RECORD WITH LEAD SINGLE “BACK TO LIFE”

DC’s dynamic duo Origami Angel are back! The pair has stunned the scene for years with their comforting yet fresh sound. Their last record, FeelingNotFound, was a smash hit for fans and newcomers alike. Now, Cosmic Debris Vol. 2 continues the narrative, with ooey gooey synth leads taking center stage. The lead single, “Back To Life,” encourages listeners by implementing techniques that made the band’s impact recognizable while also experimenting with new sounds.

This is, of course, ironic, as the single discusses a conundrum many artists face within their careers. Origami Angel has found tremendous success through their recognizable signature sound. While it fits them like a glove, they admit that it sets a precedent for all future work. As they say, “when I found that sound, I was bound to repeat it, repeat it, repeat it again.”

Though specific, this message can resonate with others. Plenty of people feel like once they hit their peak, they’re done — whether that’s socially, financially, or within their career.

The single confronts these feelings head-on, but it doesn’t end in doom and gloom. It overthinks, certainly, but eventually it takes a moment of pride in what Origami Angel has created.

As they should!

Sonically, the track is perfect for fans of Motion City Soundtrack. It resembles the aesthetic choices in Even If It Kills Me, especially with revealing lyricism that doesn’t spare anyone the details.

“Back To Life” is an incredible start for Cosmic Debris Vol. 2.
