OH BUMMER!’S INDIE ANTHEM “WATCH IT BREAK” WILL GET STUCK IN YOUR HEAD ALL WINTER LONG

Oh Bummer! has cultivated a unique sound that can’t be categorized with simple adjectives. Instead, his creative energy has to be embraced in other ways. The substance in his song “Watch It Break” isn’t of the pretentious indie variety; it focuses more on each individual production element, with each of the various instruments working in tandem with each other.

The musical project is the brainchild of artist Tanner Houghton. They describe their work as a culmination of their “ADHD thoughts” but as someone who can relate, those can sometimes be the most cohesive when you give yourself a chance to really sit down with them. Music articulates thoughts that are difficult to put to words in conversation.

“Watch It Break” is vulnerable, certainly, but it’s also very catchy. The sonic elements take me back to 2016-indie, where people were more keen to take risks with their singles. Oh Bummer!’s ability to mix excellent production value with meaningful lyricism will get them far! Remember, it’s always better to stand out than to follow trends.
