NEVERTEL REFUSE TO LET GO ON EXPLOSIVE NEW SINGLE “LAST BREATH”

Tampa, Florida’s Nevertel has never been interested in sticking to one sound. Since forming in 2014, the band has built its identity by pulling from metalcore, electronica, nu-metal, and hip-hop, creating something that can hit hard one second and completely switch gears the next.

Originally starting out under the name Living Fiction, which would later become the title of their 2016 debut album, Nevertel continued evolving before signing with Epitaph Records in 2024. Since then, they’ve only gotten harder to pin down.

Now, Nevertel are back with their brand-new single “Last Breath,” out today.

The track opens with a huge buildup of guitars and drums before pulling things back for the first verse. Between the vocals of Raul Lopez and Jeremy Michael, it doesn’t take long for “Last Breath” to sink its hooks in. Underlying electronic beats add another layer to the instrumentals as the song steadily builds toward a headbang-worthy vocal breakdown.

But there’s more going on here than just a massive chorus and heavy breakdown.

“Last Breath” explores the feeling of being trapped in a relationship that seems to have no end. You know it isn’t working, you know you’re stuck, but somehow you keep finding yourself right back where you started. It’s a never-ending story that feels destined to repeat itself until, quite literally, your last breath.

The band also paired the single with a killer music video featuring a storyline we’re not about to ruin here. You’ll just have to watch it yourself because, well, we’ll never tell.

“Last Breath” follows the band’s recent release “Otherside,” and judging by the run they’re currently on, there’s plenty more coming.
