NEUTRAL SNAP RELEASES POP-PUNK SITUATIONSHIP ANTHEM “WALTZ”

We’ve been keeping up with Neutral Snap for a while now. Their classic pop-punk sound cures the cravings of Midtown fans while leaving room for sonic exploration. “Walts,” their latest single, captures the frustrations of a situation while suggesting that it takes two to tango. Or…waltz?

Regardless, the catchy track is hook-happy with full guitar tones that are gorgeously satisfying. Although familiar, Neutral Snap’s pop-punk formula isn’t stale; instead, it utilizes recognizable elements to tell its unique narratives. It’s clear from the very first listen that they’re singing from lived experiences. Audiences can usually spot authenticity from miles away, so Neutral Snap is off to a great start.

Many would write off “unrequited lust,” as the band describes it. However, that’s still a commonly felt human emotion, and it resonates in the music. One might argue that the song’s narrator veils deeper frustrations by masking them as purely lustful. Just my two cents…

Still, “Waltz” is a strong first single for Neutral Snap’s forthcoming EP, “Danny ACOG.” Full of pop-punk charm and catchy choruses, “Waltz” might be the pop-punk song of the summer. There’s some tough competition with Warped Tour around the corner for the West Coast, but honestly? Neutral Snap would fit right into its lineup.
