“MAYBE YOU’VE NOTICED” CLEO HANDLER RELEASED NEW SINGLE
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter (and filmmaker) Cleo Handler gives us a 90s-esque pop/rock song that will have you putting on some fishnet tights and a slip dress and releasing all that pent-up anger towards your ex.
“Maybe You’ve Noticed” carefully eases us into its powerful and emotional soundscape with its simple guitar intro and Cleo’s layered vocals. The production's rawness immediately makes you nostalgic for ’90s grunge female rock (think Courtney Love/Hole). The chorus is catchy and anthemic, and the bridge builds up that rage feeling that we didn’t know we’d been containing. Lyrically, the song is somewhat savage with a strong message: You can’t miss someone if they never showed their true self to you - something that takes a pretty painful journey to discover and know how to process for those of us who can relate.
“Maybe you’ve noticed that none of these songs are about you.
Maybe you’ve realized that I’ve lived a whole life without you.
Maybe you’re wondering why you didn’t make the cut
Or perhaps you’re feeling a deep sinking hole in your gut.”
If you enjoyed “Maybe You’ve Noticed,” you’ll be happy that Cleo has a new album (with 13 tracks and three music videos) out on April 4th!!
