LEFTLOVERS GO BANANAS WITH THEIR NEWEST TRACK “CURSE OF THE BLIND”
On their newest track, Spanish newcomers Leftlovers introduce themselves to the rest of the world with their nu-metal/metalcore-influenced sound. Garnished with a bit of hardcore, the talented 4-piece band combines their inspirations into a filthy combination of horror soundtrack and second-stage Ozzfest-level aggression.
Like a scene in a horror movie, the song builds anticipation at the beginning with dark piano and mildly disturbing vocals. Finally, it jumpscares the shit out of you with a brutal riff that carries you from one mosh pit to another. Downtuned for your pleasure, “Curse of the Blind” energetically switches gears from nu metal to hardcore to metal, forging a path of destruction from start to finish. The vocals will remind you of heavier Slipknot and Vended, channeling Corey Taylor and Griffin Taylor, respectively, to the point that you’d think lead singer Mario Brenlla is a long-lost member of the Taylor family. And when you think it's over, they give you another breakdown to take home with you.
Drop the bananas and run away, because if the killer monkey is as dangerous as this song, you’re in trouble.
And go ahead and add this track to your Dia de Los Muertos playlist. Playing “Curse of the Blind” at full blast will ensure all the trick-or-treaters will skip your house on Halloween.
