SUNAMI AND SCOWL TURN THE HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM INTO PURE HARDCORE CHAOS

Sunami’s been tearing it up out of the Bay Area, bringing some of the most insane energy to hardcore right now, and Scowl from Santa Cruz has been smashing stages with their raw, unfiltered rage. Both bands hit the Hollywood Palladium, and it was straight chaos from the jump. The openers, WhispersMidrift, and Big Boy, really came through and absolutely destroyed it.

Scowl took the stage with their usual fire – Kat’s presence was just unreal. She’s got that mix of rage, confidence, and power that makes you stop and pay attention. She’s been holding it down for women in hardcore in such a real, unapologetic way, and seeing her command that massive stage felt special. Scowl’s been grinding for years, and this tour proves they’ve leveled up for real.

Then Sunami came out, and the place went nuts. This was their biggest headline show so far, and they definitely went all out. The band’s energy was raw and proud – representing Asians in hardcore in a way that feels powerful and important. It’s rare to see Asian representation in heavy music, which makes it even more inspiring – especially knowing that many Asians grew up in families where this kind of passion and music isn’t usually the norm. So to see Sunami leading a packed Palladium crowd in total chaos, holding it down for their community, was honestly inspiring. That night was more than just a show - it was a statement.

You could feel that everyone in the room was part of something bigger. It was a hardcore family coming together to celebrate bands that actually mean something. By the end, it wasn’t just about the music anymore; it was about the scene, the representation, and the fact that bands like Sunami and Scowl are proving hardcore still has a place for anyone — and anywhere — ready to bring the chaos.
