JUSTIN WEBB & THE NOISE EXPLORE THE “TERRESTRIAL RADIO” IN NEW SINGLE

The world is full of noise — especially online. We’ve abandoned single-use devices for instant gratification. Justin Webb & The Noise confront this conundrum in their catchy new single, “Terrestrial Radio.” Plenty of the singles’ elements signal towards counterculture, but in extraordinarily clever ways.

Each second of the track acts as social commentary. Immediately, audiences are greeted by intense lead vocals. Though stunning, it’s difficult to ignore the sense of urgency within the song’s narration. Everything feels like “life or death,” reflecting the way daily life feels in this climate.

Instrumentally, “Terrestrial Radio” takes this a step further, encouraging audiences to use their time wisely by emphasizing indulgent drum beats and a guitar solo that’s smooth as butter. Gang vocals help back up the rhythm section, incorporating other elements of dead media, such as an actual bridge halfway through a song.

While a few things could improve “Terrestrial Radio,” it nicely articulates its thesis. People are so caught up in things that won’t matter in the long run, mainly thanks to the constant exposure to screens and the internet. The band hopes to revive “authentic rock,” and they’re already doing an exceptional job.
